Inflow/outflow Distributed Generation tariff (Rider 18), not 1:1 net metering: imports billed at full retail (~$0.18/kWh all-in); exports credited at the residential outflow rate — $0.08765/kWh on the first 17 kWh/day and $0.10139/kWh on the excess (Rider 18 Sheet D-115.00, Case U-21534, eff 2/6/2025). Outflow credits offset Company electric charges on the bill, excluding securitization charges (post-PA 235 / Case U-21569) — they do not offset delivery charges. An $8.50/mo service charge, a $2.31/kW-AC/month DG System Access Contribution, and non-bypassable distribution charges form the fixed floor: energy offset is NOT bill offset — a 90% energy-offset system saves only ~60% of the dollar bill. Batteries under Rider 18 may NOT export to the grid (self-consumption/backup only). DTE residential rates have climbed steadily through successive MPSC rate cases (U-21534 +$217.4M eff 2/6/2025; U-21860 +$242.4M approved 2/19/2026). Customers who interconnected before May 9, 2019 were grandfathered into old 1:1 net metering for up to 10 years from their enrollment date.

Inflow/outflow Distributed Generation tariff (Rule C11.3), not 1:1 net metering: the DG program bills on the customer's existing residential schedule — for most solar customers that is Rate RSP ('Residential Summer On-Peak Basic'), a seasonal time-of-use rate (on-peak 2–7pm weekdays, Jun–Sep). Imports bill at full retail (~$0.18–0.19/kWh all-in); exports credit at the Rate RSP power-supply energy rate — $0.151904/kWh summer on-peak, $0.103970/kWh summer off-peak, $0.082996/kWh winter (Sheet C-64.30, eff 5/1/2026, Case U-21870), credited including transmission + PSCR and (post-2/27/2024) offsetting all charges except securitization. The honest self-consumption spread is roughly FLAT at ~9.3¢/kWh — the non-bypassable distribution charge ($0.093333/kWh) — because the outflow credit tracks the energy rate. $8.00/mo System Access charge; Michigan's non-bypassable charges mean energy offset is NOT bill offset. Customers who interconnected before Jan 1, 2021 were grandfathered into old 1:1 net metering for up to 10 years from their enrollment date.
